Clay County Schools’ ACT Gains with MasteryPrep

Located in rural North Carolina, Clay County Schools partnered with MasteryPrep through its GEAR UP program to expand access to high-quality ACT preparation for students at Hayesville High School and Hayesville Early College. Over seven years, the district has integrated MasteryPrep Boot Camps, Practice Testing, and Professional Development into a consistent college readiness strategy.

In 2024, the district’s ACT composite average increased from 17.6 to 18.5, while the average ACT Science score rose from 17.9 to 19.3.
